BALTIMORE, Md. --- The Cedar Crest College Field Hockey program suffered a 2-1 loss in their first Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) game of the 2019 season on Saturday afternoon. The Falcons are now 3-8 overall and drop to 0-1 in conference action after today's game.
Cedar Crest would outshoot the Gators 12-4 in the game, with nine of the Falcons shots went on cage and all four of Notre Dame's shots were on goal. The Black and Yellow also doubled-up the Gators, earning 11 penalty corners to Notre Dame's five.
Senior midfielder
Makenzie Kistler (Walnutport, Pa./Northampton) scored the first goal of the game, and her fourth of the season, in the 10th minute of the of the first quarter that was assisted by senior
Alexx Miller (Mechanicsburg, Pa/Mechanicsburg Area). The Falcons would take the 1-0 lead into the half, but just 49-seconds into the third quarter, Notre Dame would score and tie the game at 1-1. In the 43rd minute, the Gators would score their second goal of the quarter to take the lead, which would hold true for the final score of 2-1.
Senior
Cassandra Reijgers (Hollis, N.H./Hollis Brookline) was in cage for the Black and Yellow, making two saves on the four shots she faced in the contest. One save came in the first quarter and the other in the fourth quarter.
Reijgers falls to 2-7 overall this season.
The Falcons return to action on Saturday, October 12 when they host Keystone College in their CSAC home opener. The game is slated to begin at 1:00 PM at the FalconPlex.
