GLENSIDE, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest College Basketball squad (0-4) suffers a non-conference road loss to Arcadia University (3-2) on Thursday evening in Alumni Gymnasium.
The Falcons found themselves in a deficit after the first quarter, trailing the Knights 5-22, but come out and outscored Arcadia 10-9 in the second quarter, heading into halftime at a score of 15-31. The Falcons were unable to cut into the lead any further, as the Knights extended their lead to 20-52. The Black and Yellow tallied 13 points in the fourth quarter, but Arcadia's offense continued, handing Cedar Crest a 33-72 loss.
Junior
Mackenzie Borger (Kresgeville, Pa./Pleasant Valley) led the way for the Falcons, scoring in double-figures for her third-straight contest, finishing with 13 points, two steals, a rebound and an assist. Freshman
Megan Peifer (Weatherly, Pa./Weatherly) hit a three-pointer and sunk two other baskets for her seven points, adding two rebounds and a steal, as senior
Geminii Cabrera (Reading, Pa./Berks Catholic) netted five points in the game, leading the team with seven rebounds and two steals.
Senior
Venus Cabrera (Reading,Pa./Berks Catholic) contributed four points to go with her six rebounds, followed by sophomores
Amiyah Peters (Plainville, Conn./Plainville) and
Tiesha Fortune-Saunders (West Haven, Conn./West Haven), who each scored a bucket for the Black and Yellow.
Peters added two assists and two rebounds as
Fortune-Saunders grabbed two boards in the loss.
Cedar Crest will return home on Tuesday, November 26 when they host Alvernia University in non-conference action. The game is set to start at 5:30 PM in Lees Gymnasium.
