ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest College Basketball team (1-8, 1-2 CSAC) concluded 2019 with a non-conference loss to Lebanon Valley College (5-6, 0-3 MAC) by a score of 53-97 on Monday evening in Lees Gymnasium.

The Falcons came out strong in the first quarter, going shot-for-shot with the Dutchmen, taking a four-point lead on two separate occasions, and their biggest lead being a five-point lead at 18-13. After the first 10 minutes, Cedar Crest and Lebanon Valley were tied at 22-22.

The Black and Yellow scored the first bucket of the second quarter two take back the lead, but after trading a couple of baskets, the Dutchmen would start to pull away, with the Falcons trailing by 20 points heading into the half, 32-52. Cedar Crest would not be able to cut any deeper into the deficit, as Lebanon Valley defeated the Falcons 53-97.

A strong performance by two Falcons landed them with double figures, led by senior
Geminii Cabrera (Reading, Pa./Berks Catholic) with 17 points.
Cabrera also added three rebounds and a steal as freshman
Ashley Wilson (Norwalk, Conn./Norwalk) scored 15 points in her first appearance wearing the Black and Yellow.
Wilson contributed three assists, three steals and a rebound in her debut.

Freshman
Megan Peifer (Weatherly, Pa./Weatherly) and graduate student
Meghan Gregory (Buckhorn, NM/Cliff) each netted six points apiece, with
Peifer dishing out a team-high five assists, grabbed six rebounds, swiped two steals and had a blocked shot.
Gregory finished the night leading the Falcons with nine boards, a block and an assist.

Kelly Reid (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) tallied four points to go with her three rebounds, two assists and two steals as junior
Mackenzie Borger (Kresgeville, Pa./Pleasant Valley) scored her three points from the foul line, going 3-of-4, and recorded six rebounds, three steals, team-high two blocks and an assist. Rounding out the Falcon scorers was senior
Venus Cabrera (Reading,Pa./Berks Catholic), who contributed two points, three assists, three steals and two rebounds.

The Falcons will wrap up their four-game home stand with a non-conference game against Lancaster Bible College on Thursday, January 2 to ring in the New Year. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 PM inside of Lees Hall.
