ALLENTOWN, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest College Basketball program (2-8, 1-2 CSAC) opened the New Year with a 58-50 win over Lancaster Bible College (1-7, 0-3 NEAC) on Thursday night.

The Falcons started out behind the Chargers, 8-13, but the Black and Yellow really got things going in the second quarter. Cedar Crest and Lancaster Bible would exchange the lead multiple times, but freshman
Ashley Wilson (Norwalk, Conn./Norwalk) hit a 3-pointer just under a minute remaining to give the Falcons a three-point lead into halftime, 31-28. The Chargers would take the lead on three separate occasions, but the Falcons would get to their biggest lead with a jumper at the buzzer to put them up 47-41. After a low scoring fourth quarter, the Falcons would come out victorious, 58-50.

Leading the way for the Falcons was freshman
Ashley Wilson (Norwalk, Conn./Norwalk), scoring a career-high 28 points in only her second game with the Black and Yellow, while also contributing a team-high five steals, four rebounds and four assists. Also finishing the contest in double-figures was junior
Mackenzie Borger (Kresgeville, Pa./Pleasant Valley), who netted 15 points, nine rebounds, four steals, three blocks and an assist.

Three other Falcons got their names in the scorers column, starting with freshman
Megan Peifer (Weatherly, Pa./Weatherly), who scored eight points, grabbed four rebounds and swiped a steal as sophomore
Amiyah Peters (Plainville, Conn./Plainville) finished with six points off two 3-pointers to go with four boards and two assists. Senior
Venus Cabrera (Reading,Pa./Berks Catholic) sank a free throw for her lone point of the game, but was a co-leader with nine rebounds.

Cedar Crest hits the road for the first time in a month, as they travel to Centenary University on Saturday, January 4. Tip-off is slated for 1:00 PM at the Reeves Center.
