CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest College Basketball team defeated Clarks Summit University 64-49, to earn a win in their last road contest of the 2018-19 season.

"We had redemption on our minds tonight," stated Head Coach
Kristin Karat. "We did not like the feeling we had the last time we left this building and Mackenzie and Greg made sure we didn't feel that way again."

The Falcons improve to 6-18 overall and 5-10 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC). The first quarter was tied at 6-6 just three minutes into the game, then Cedar Crest did not allow the Defenders to score the rest of the quarter. The Black and Yellow ended the quarter with 12-straight points to put the score at 18-6. The Falcons went off in the second quarter, putting up 25 points to Clarks Summit's 14 points, to put the halftime score at 43-20. The Defenders doubled-up the Falcons, 10-20, cutting down Cedar Crest's lead, 53-40. Heading into the fourth quarter, the Falcons netted 11 fourth quarter points to Clarks Summit's 9 to put the final score at 64-49.

Posting a career-night in points and rebounds was junior
Mackenzie Borger (Kresgeville, Pa./Pleasant Valley), scoring 29 points and 12 rebounds to also go with two blocks. Also, scoring double-digits was graduate student
Meghan Gregory (Buckhorn, NM/Cliff ), she netted 15 points to go with six rebounds and two steals. "This was a great way to end our road trips," continued
Coach Karat. "Mack and Greg started us off in the first half and that allowed me to play everyone tonight."

Sophomore
Jada Garrett (Dallas, TX/Ranchview) was next in the scorer's column, who scored five points with eight boards and a steal. Junior
Venus Cabrera (Reading,Pa./Berks Catholic), sophomore
Khnaue Robinson (Newark, N.J./Great Oaks Legacy Charter) and freshman
Tania Bryant (Willingboro, N.J./Doane Academy) each contributed four points in the Falcons victory.
Cabrera added eight rebounds and an assist while
Robinson had two assists, two rebounds and two steals.
Bryant also had two steals and an assist to go with her four points. Freshman
Amiyah Peters (Plainville, Conn./Plainville) hit a field goal for her two points to go with her five rebounds as sophomore
Natasha Barber (Dallas, TX/Ranchview) made a free throw, grabbed three boards and a steal to end the Falcons scorers.

Cedar Crest season will conclude on Saturday, February 16 when the Falcons host Rosemont College on their own Think Pink Game. Tipoff is scheduled for 1:00 PM in Lees Gymnasium.
