Three Falcons net multiple goals in loss to Centenary

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. --- The Cedar Crest Lacrosse program suffered a 9-13 loss to Centenary University in the final game of the 2019 campaign on Saturday afternoon.
 
Centenary would score the first goal of the game, followed by a goal freshman Elizabeth Fennimore (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) just fifteen seconds later to tie the game at 1-1. The Cyclones would net three goals before Fennimore scored her second of the game, assisted by freshman Sydney Heathcott (Newburgh, Ind./Castle High). The Black and Yellow would score two more, both coming from the stick of junior Stephanie Barr, scoring her fourth and fifth goals of the season to knot the game back up at 4-4. Centenary score two more goals before the half ended, putting the score at 4-6.
 
The Cyclones started the second half with four unanswered goals, pushing the deficit to six, 4-10. Cedar Crest responded with another goal by Fennimore, her third of the game, to cut the lead in half. After another Centenary goal, junior Theresa Neumann (West Point, N.Y./James I. O'Neill) got a shot past the goalkeeper for her ninth of the season. Trading goals again, Centenary would score another before Cedar Crest would score two of their own, both being scored by junior Isabella Savino (Middletown, Del./Middletown). With the Falcons trailing 8-12, Centenary would add another to extend their lead to 8-13 before Fennimore netted her fourth and final goal of the game, to put her season total at 15.
 
Sophomore Allison Churchill (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) played all 60:00 minutes in goal for the Black and Yellow, recording nine saves on the 22 shots she faced. Churchill ended with 162 saves this season and a record of 2-11.
 
Cedar Crest took 32 shots with 19 of them going on the netminder. The Falcons picked up 22 ground balls, won 13 draw controls in the game and went 15-26 on clear attempts.
 
The Falcons end the season with a 2-11 record and 2-8 in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
