BRYN MAWR, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest Field Hockey team opened their 2019 season with a 4-0 loss to Bryn Mawr College on Friday afternoon.

The Falcons and Owls were at a scoreless tie for the first 27 minutes, when Bryn Mawr broke the draw with under three minutes remaining in the first half. The Owls would get three more shots passed the goalkeeper, one in the third quarter and two in the fourth and final quarter to put the final score at 4-0.

Getting the start in cage was senior Cassandra Reijgers (Hollis, N.H./Hollis Brookline), who played all 60 minutes, went up against 19 shots, 11 of them going on goal and recorded six saves. Senior Alexx Miller (Mechanicsburg, Pa/Mechanicsburg Area) was tabbed with a defensive save as well in the contest. The Falcons managed to get three shots off, two from senior Makenzie Kistler (Walnutport, Pa./Northampton) and the other coming from freshman Kiley Marone (Mohrsville, PA/Tulpehocken High School). Both Cedar Crest and Bryn Mawr took eight penalty corners each, with the Owls having six come in the second quarter and two in the third while the Falcons had three in the first half and five in the second.
