BROCKPORT, N.Y. -– The Cedar Crest College Field Hockey team defeated SUNY Brockport 2-0 in a non-conference field hockey contest on Sunday afternoon, with both goals coming from freshman standout,
Kiley Marone (Mohrsville, PA/Tulpehocken High School).
"We were able to put on in early and it established our intensity moving forward into the game" Head Coach
Kellina Yarrish stated in the Falcon's 2-0 victory on the road today.

Freshman forward,
Kiley Marone (Mohrsville, PA/Tulpehocken High School) scored both goals to help the Falcons come away with the well fought victory on the road.
THE REST OF THE STORY
The Falcons controlled the opening minutes of play, recording the first three shots of the contest, allowing forward
Marone to put the Falcons ahead 1-0 with 8 minutes left in the first quarter, coming from a redirected scramble pass from sophomore,
Serena Shuler (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) to open the scoring.
Marone scored the second of her two goals of the game in the third quarter and Cedar Crest took a 2-0 lead going into the fourth quarter with a cross pass from teammate junior
Brice Gardner (Gardners, Pa./Biglerville ).
The Falcons controlled most of the game with their hustle and intensity, but the Golden Eagles outshot the Falcons 28-10, have 22 and 5 on frame.
THE KEEPERS
Cedar Crest's senior goalkeeper
Cassandra Reijgers (Hollis, N.H./Hollis Brookline) came up huge for the Falcon's, making 19 saves to notch her first shutout of the season. In the third quarter,
Reijgers was tested with a penalty stroke, turning it away to keep the Golden Eagle's off the board. Brockport's goalkeepers Cara Fox and Megan Peterson had 2 saves together, allowing two goals against them. Three Falcon defenders came up big, with senior
Alexx Miller (Mechanicsburg, Pa/Mechanicsburg Area), senior
Alexis Domingo-Cowan (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro), and freshman
Amber Cieri (Slatington, Pa./Northern Lehigh) all coming up with defensive saves to keep hope alive for the Black and Yellow.
"We had teammates come up big in times of need today, which lead to our success on the field. I'm extremely proud, as it truly was a team effort" added Head Coach Yarrish. With the result, Cedar Crest improves to 2-5 in their 2019 season.
