Kistler’s goal not enough as Falcons drop non-conference bout to Misericordia

DALLAS, Pa. --- The Cedar Crest College Field Hockey team suffered a one-goal loss, 2-1 to Misericordia University on Mangelsdorf Field on Wednesday evening.
 
The Falcons, now 2-7 on the season, got on the board first, coming from senior Makenzie Kistler (Walnutport, Pa./Northampton) in the sixth minute for her third goal of the season. The Cougars would score the equalizer in the final-minute of the first quarter to tie the game at 1-1 going into the first break. Misericordia would net the game-winner in the second quarter during the 25th minute, which would hold true as the Cougars defeated Cedar Crest 2-1.
 
The Black and Yellow would double-up the Cougars 8-4 in shots, with both squads getting three shots on goal in the contest. Cedar Crest earned just two penalty corners on the night, as Misericordia recorded three.
 
Senior Cassandra Reijgers (Hollis, N.H./Hollis Brookline) got the start in cage for the Falcons making one save of the three shots on goal and eight total shots taken by the Cougars in the game. Reijgers would earn the loss in the decision, putting her overall record at 1-6.
 
Cedar Crest will return to action on Wednesday, October 2 when they hit the road again for a non-conference game versus Neumann University. The contest is scheduled for 4:00 PM in Aston, Pa.
