Wilson scores 32 points as the Falcons suffer CSAC loss to Keystone

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College Basketball program (2-10, 1-4 CSAC) suffered a home loss to Keystone College (7-5, 5-0 CSAC) in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) competition on Tuesday evening.
 
Both the Falcons and the Giants would both exchange baskets back-and-forth through the first quarter, being tied on three separate occasions, but the Falcons would head into the second quarter with a two-point lead, 17-15. The Black and Yellow would extend their lead to as many as six-points over a minute into the period, 23-17, but Keystone would put together a streak of their own and take the lead by five points, 25-20 at the halfway mark of the quarter. The Falcons would cut the lead to four near the end of the half, but the Giant sank a 3-pointer as time expired to put the Falcons behind by seven points at the half, 38-45. Cedar Crest struggled to start off the second half, scoring five points in the third quarter, which had the Falcons trailing the Giants, 43-62. Cedar Crest and Keystone each scored 17 points in the final quarter, which gave us the final score of 60-79.
 
An outstanding performance was provided by freshman Ashley Wilson (Norwalk, Conn./Norwalk), who scored 32 points in tonight's game, topping her previous high of 28 points just a week ago. 12 of Wilson's 32 points came from the foul line, as she went 12-12 (100%) from the free-throw line, and shot 8-16 (50%) from the field and 4-8 (50%) beyond the 3-point line. Wilson also contributed six rebounds, four steals and three assists to cap of the night.
 
Six other Falcons recorded their names in the scorers' column, freshman Megan Peifer (Weatherly, Pa./Weatherly) finished the night with seven points, sinking a 3-pointer, and went 2-2 at the charity stripe, to go with her four rebounds, two steals and two assists. Sophomore Amiyah Peters (Plainville, Conn./Plainville) and senior Geminii Cabrera (Reading, Pa./Berks Catholic) each netted six points and three rebounds for the Falcons, with Peters hitting two threes and Cabrera getting credited for an assist and a steal.
 
Junior Mackenzie Borger (Kresgeville, Pa./Pleasant Valley) tossed in five points, going a perfect 3-3 from the foul line, also getting two rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals. Senior Venus Cabrera (Reading,Pa./Berks Catholic) and freshman Kelly Reid (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) round out the Falcon scorers', each scoring two points in the contest. Cabrera recorded a co-leading six rebounds and added an assist as Reid grabbed two boards on the night.
 
The Falcons will hit the road for a pair of CSAC games to end the week, first traveling to Chambersburg, Pa. to take on Wilson College (1-8, 0-5 CSAC) on Thursday, January 9. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM at Nelson Gymnasium in the Gannett Field House.
