CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College Basketball program (3-10, 2-4 CSAC) earned a 54-45 road victory over Wilson College (1-9, 0-6 CSAC) in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play of Thursday evening.
The Falcons found themselves down 0-5 in the first minute of the contest, before tying it for the first time of the quarter just two minutes in, 5-5. Wilson would hold the lead for a majority of the quarter before Cedar Crest got hot and scored seven-unanswered points to end the quarter, leading the Phoenix 16-12. A low scoring second quarter kept the game close, with the Falcons biggest lead growing to seven points, 21-14, but the Phoenix put together a small run to knot the match up at 21-21. A layup late for the Black and Yellow gave Cedar Crest a two-point lead heading into the locker room at the half, 23-21.
Coming out of the break, Cedar Crest would balloon their lead to eight points on three separate occasions, and took a four-point lead into the fourth quarter, 38-34. The Falcons largest lead peak at double-digits with seven minutes left to play, 44-34, but the Phoenix cut into the lead, getting to within five points at the halfway point of the quarter, 44-39. The Black and Yellow would be able to keep their lead to a multiple-possession game, and defeated Wilson, 54-45 to improve to 2-4 in conference play.
Three Falcons ended the night scoring 10+ points, and two recorded double-doubles, led by freshman
Ashley Wilson (Norwalk, Conn./Norwalk), who scored a team-high 15 points and 11 rebounds for her first-career double-double.
Wilson also added three steals, two blocks and an assist as graduate student
Meghan Gregory (Buckhorn, NM/Cliff) also finished with a double-double, netting 11 points and 11 rebounds. Senior
Geminii Cabrera (Reading, Pa./Berks Catholic) was the final Falcon to score in double-digits, finishing with 12 points, seven rebounds, team-high five assists, and a steal.
Sophomore
Amiyah Peters (Plainville, Conn./Plainville) turned in a solid scoring effort, contributing eight points from two 3-pointers, to go with a pair of assists and a steal while freshman
Megan Peifer (Weatherly, Pa./Weatherly) tossed in four points, hitting a three, and getting one from the foul line, brought down seven boards, credited for three assists and a steal. Junior
Mackenzie Borger (Kresgeville, Pa./Pleasant Valley) and senior
Venus Cabrera (Reading,Pa./Berks Catholic) each scored two points in the win.

Cabrera recorded a rebound. Sophomore
Tiesha Fortune-Saunders (West Haven, Conn./West Haven) did not record a point in the contest, but she did bring down seven rebounds for the Black and Yellow.
The Falcons will remain on the road for the next game, as they travel to Rosemont College on Saturday, January 11 for a CSAC contest. The game is scheduled for 2:00 PM at Alumnae Gymnasium in Rosemont.
