ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College Basketball team (6-17, 5-11 CSAC) earned a 67-54 victory over Rosemont College (6-17, 4-12 CSAC) in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) competition on Saturday afternoon in Lees Gymnasium. This win over Rosemont marks the first-time since 2010 that the Falcons have defeated the Ravens.
Cedar Crest came out shooting, and quickly got ahead of Rosemont, which led to the Black and Yellow taking a 10-point lead into the second quarter, 19-9. The second quarter was a high-scoring affair for both squads, as the Ravens outscored the Falcons, 22-23, but Cedar Crest was ahead by nine points at the half, 41-32.
After halftime, the Rosemont would cut the Falcons lead down to five points, but the consistent effort kept Cedar Crest ahead after three quarters of play, 54-46. Scoring 13 points in back-to-back quarters, the Black and Yellow managed to close out the game and earn a double-digit victory over Rosemont for the first time in a decade, 67-54.
Three Falcons ended the game in double-figures, led by freshman
Ashley Wilson (Norwalk, Conn./Norwalk), who contributed 20 points, eight rebounds, a team-high six assists, a blocked shot and a steal.
Wilson also went 8-10 (80%) from the foul line in the win. Following close behind was junior
Mackenzie Borger (Kresgeville, Pa./Pleasant Valley), who tallied 17 points, six rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks. Senior
Geminii Cabrera (Reading, Pa./Berks Catholic) contributed 10 points as the final Falcon to reach double-digits, to go with two assist and two boards.

Meghan Gregory (Buckhorn, NM/Cliff) had a great game defensively for the Black and Yellow, blocking a game-high six shots, to go with her six points, two assists and two steals. Freshman
Megan Peifer (Weatherly, Pa./Weatherly) made both the shots she took in today's win, hitting one from long-distance to total five points in the contest. Also hitting a three-pointer in the game was sophomore
Tiesha Fortune-Saunders (West Haven, Conn./West Haven) for her three points, while swiping a steal. Senior
Venus Cabrera (Reading,Pa./Berks Catholic), sophomore
Amiyah Peters (Plainville, Conn./Plainville), and freshman
Kelly Reid (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) each recorded two points apiece.
Cabrera earned both of her points from the foul line, going with five rebounds, three assists, a block and a steal.
Reid brought down two boards as
Peters was credited with one rebound. Sophomore
Tinesha Fortune-Saunders (West Haven, Conn./West Haven) saw action as well and grabbed a rebound to add her name to the scorers' column.
Cedar Crest enters their last week of the2019-2020 season, starting with their final road-contest, when they travel to Morristown, NJ on Wednesday, February 19 to take on the College of Saint Elizabeth (16-5, 13-2 CSAC) in CSAC action. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 PM at Saint Joseph Hall.
