BRISTOL, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College women's soccer team picked up a 2-0 victory over Cairn University on Wednesday night in a Colonial States Athletic Conference match-up at Bristol Township Park.

Erika D'Angelo (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) and freshman
Rebecca Verdi (Crownsville, Md./Old Mill) supplied the offensive firepower while junior goalkeeper
Lauren Makely (Lake Grove, N.Y./Sachem North) posted the shutout. The Falcons improved to 9-1-1 overall and 4-1-0 in conference play.
D'Angelo put Cedar Crest on the scoreboard in the sixth minute with her fifth tally of the season. The assist was awarded to Verdi.
The Falcons took the 1-0 advantage into the halftime intermission and protected the lead throughout the second half. The insurance marker didn't come until the 67th minute on a marker by Verdi.
Cedar Crest held a 14-3 edge in total shots. Makely finished with three saves while freshman keeper Isabelle Lazor (Midland Park, N.J.) made three stops for the Highlanders.
Cedar Crest concludes a four-match road trip on Saturday, October 16 when they head to Notre Dame of Maryland University for a 1:00 p.m. conference tilt. Cairn will remain at home to host Centenary University (N.J.) on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
