Soccer Blanks NDMU in Conference Play

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Cedar Crest College soccer team came away with a 2-0 victory over Notre Dame of Maryland University on Saturday afternoon in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) showdown at Alumnae Field.

"We found a way to win even though it wasn't our best performance," said Interim Head Coach Sam Busillo. "This was a gritty game and I'm happy that we were able to see it through. We will take the three points and use this week to continue to build."

Graduate student Adrianna Tennis (Pine Grove, Pa./Pine Grove) and junior Taylor Wolf (Towsend, De./Middletown) each scored for the Falcons while junior goalkeeper Lauren Makely (Lake Grove, N.Y./Sachem North) made one save en route to the shutout.

Cedar Crest (10-1-1 overall, 5-1-0 CSAC) got on the scoreboard in the 28th minute on an unassisted effort by Tennis for her team-leading eighth goal of the season.

The Falcons led 1-0 at the halftime intermission and added an insurance tally in the 88th minute on a marker from Wolf as the contest would end in the 2-0 final.
Ataesia Norris converted 13 saves in goal for the Gators.

Cedar Crest had a large advantage in shots on the afternoon, 26-2, and had eight corners to Notre Dame's one.

Cedar Crest will next play on Saturday, October 23 at home against the University of Valley Forge for its Senior Day and Homecoming match. Kick-off is slated for 2:00 p.m.
