ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College volleyball team moved remained unbeaten in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play with 3-1 victory over Notre Dame of Maryland University on Wednesday evening at Lees Gymnasium.
The Falcons took the first two sets by scores of 25-16 and 25-11. The Gators responded with a 25-16 third set victory, but Cedar Crest answered back with a 25-18 fourth set win to seal the victory.
The Falcons led the match earning 54 points, 34 kills, 12 service aces, and eight blocks.
Leading the squad in kills was sophomore
Ava Grapsy (Macungie, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic), who downed nine attacks for kills, with eight assists, five service aces, one block assist, and 11 digs. Junior
Kelsee Schouppe (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) registered a match-high five blocks to go along with seven kills and one service ace. Senior
Talia Watson (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) turned in an 18 assist, 14 dig performance. The 18 assists tied a match-high. Freshman
Alexis Cummins (Stafford, Va./Colonial Forge) tallied a team-high 24 digs while graduate student
Tiffany Hoppes (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) registered 24.
Cedar Crest (12-5 overall, 5-0 CSAC) will travel to Rosemont College for its next match on Saturday, October 16 at 11:00 a.m.
