Field Hockey Earns First Conference Victory with Shutout over Lancaster Bible

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College field hockey blanked Lancaster Bible College, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon at the FalconPlex in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action. The win moves the Falcons to 3-6 overall and 1-1 in league play while the Chargers slip to 1-8 overall and 0-2 in the conference.

Cedar Crest tallied the lone goal of the contest when junior Kiley Marone (Mohrsville, PA/Tulpehocken High School) picked off a LBC defender and took the ball to the cage to score her team-leading sixth goal of the season.

The margin stood for the remainder of the game as the contest ended in the 1-0 final.

The Falcons outshot Lancaster Bible, 17-11, and drew 17 penalty corners to the Chargers' eight.

Freshman Brynn Rifino (Dover, Del./Smyrna) secures her second shutout of the season and made six saves in the process. Sophomore Alexis Garrett (Willow Street, Pa.) registered nine stops in the setback for Lancaster Bible.

Cedar Crest will next play on Tuesday, October 5 at Wilson College for a CSAC tilt. First whistle is set for 4:00 p.m.
