HOBOKEN, N.J. – The Cedar Crest College women's volleyball team's historic run in the postseason came to end on Friday in the First Round of the NCAA Division III Women's Tournament as the Falcons fell to No. 2 Trinity University (Texas) (32-2), 3-0 (25-9, 25-8, 25-13). The 2021 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Champions close out the season with a 20-6 overall while the Tigers move on to the Second Round of the Regional on Saturday.
"What a rewarding experience this was for myself as a coach," Cedar Crest College and CSAC Coach of the Year Head Coach
Shelby Morgan would comment during the post-match press conference. "First time in history taking Cedar Crest volleyball to the NCAA Tournament, but for them, to play such a wonderful team. They're (Trinty) is lights out. I'm very impressed with our team with the way they performed and held themselves."
Trinity proved why they were ranked second nationally in the most recent AVCA Coaches Poll, jumping out to a 12-1 lead to start the match and eventually took the first set, 25-9. The Tigers followed with a 25-8 second-set win. The Falcons showed plenty of heart in the final set, but fell in a 25-13 score. Â

Talia Watson (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) would express following the match. "I've just really enjoyed my time and I'm just grateful to have had this experience."

Ava Grapsy (Macungie, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic), the 2021 CSAC Player/Rookie of the Year, along with freshman
Alexis Cummins (Stafford, Va./Colonial Forge) led the way offensively for Cedar Crest with four kills apiece on the afternoon. Watson would finish with three assists and a pair of service aces, which enters the top-five of Cedar Crest volleyball history, finishing with 74. Graduate student
Tiffany Hoppes (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) and Watson tallied a team high six digs apiece. Trinity was led by Avery Tuggle's match-high 10 kills.
