IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College volleyball team defeated Immaculata University in straight sets, 3-0, on Thursday night at Alumnae Hall.
The Falcons swept the Mighty Macs in three sets, (25-20, 25-15 and 25-13), to improve to 1-0 on the season.
Leading Cedar Crest in kills was sophomore
Ava Grapsy (Macungie, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic), as she recorded 11 to go along with 15 digs and 12 assists. Graduate student
Tiffany Hoppes (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) led the team in digs, as she tallied 19 in the straight-set win. Senior
Talia Watson (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton), who also had three service aces, paced the squad with 20 assists. Sophomore
Ziah Melton (Allentown, Pa./William Allen) led the way in the blocks category with six total (five solo).
The Falcons are back in action on Saturday, September 4 when they travel to William Paterson University for a tri-match. Cedar Crest goes up against the host Pioneers at 11:00 a.m., followed by a match with Rutgers-Newark that is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
