RADNOR, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College volleyball team was topped by Cabrini University, 3-0, in its non-conference finale on Friday night at Nerney Field House.
The Cavs took the match with set scores of 25-17, 25-12, and 25-13.
Sophomore
Alexis Cummins (Stafford, Va./Colonial Forge) paced the Falcons with five kills, followed by four apiece from classmate
Akashia Johnson (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore Polytechnic Institute ) and first-year
Ellise Everett (Orlando, Fla./Lake Nona ).
Junior
Rebekka Sanchez-Castro (Columbia, Md./Atholton) led the way on the defensive end, tallying 14 digs and added three assists. Classmate
Ava Grapsy (Macungie, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) 18 assists, two blocks, six digs, and one service ace. First-year
Alana Connor (Manassas, Va./Charles J. Colgan ) added seven digs to round out the statistical leaders.
The Falcons totaled 42 digs, 23 kills, 21 assists, two service aces and three blocks in the setback.
Cedar Crest (6-8 overall) resumes conference play on Saturday, October 15 at home against Clarks Summit University for Senior Day. First serve is set for noon. Cabrini (13-9 overall) travels to Immaculata University for a league match on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
