ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College field hockey team was defeated by Wilson College, 2-0, on Saturday afternoon in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) contest at the FalconPlex.
The first three quarters were scoreless before the Phoenix got on the scoreboard in the 52
nd minute with a goal from senior Abigail Rosenberry (Shippensburg, Pa.). Wilson added an insurance tally in the 57
th minute on a marker from sophomore Brea Kelso (Shippensburg, Pa.) for the 2-0 final.
The Phoenix held a 10-6 edge in shots and had 14 penalty corners to the Falcons' seven.
Senior goalkeeper Allyson Shindler (Manchester, Pa.) registered three saves in the win for Wilson while first-year
Kendall Heiney (Slatington, Pa./Northern Lehigh) tallied four saves in the setback for Cedar Crest.
Cedar Crest (4-7 overall, 1-2 CSAC) concludes a six-game homestand on Tuesday, October 11 against Bryn Athyn College in a 7:00 p.m. start. Wilson (5-3 overall, 1-0 CSAC) returns home to host Notre Dame of Maryland University on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
