FREDRICKSBURG, Va. – The Cedar Crest College volleyball team opens play in the NCAA Division III Tournament against the University of Mary Washington on Thursday, November 10 at the William M. Anderson Center at UMW. First serve is set for 8:00 p.m.

How they got here:
  • The Falcons earned the automatic qualifier into the tournament field by defeating No. 2 Notre Dame of Maryland University, 3-0, in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) finals to claim its second-straight title. The Eagles took down Salisbury, 3-0, to win the Coast-To-Coast Conference (C2C) Championship.

All-Time Series:
  • This marks the first-ever meeting between Cedar Crest and Mary Washington.

Notes:
  • Cedar Crest is making its second-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.
  • The Falcons had seven student-athletes named as All-Conference selections, including two major award winners. Junior Rebekka Sanchez-Castro (Columbia, Md./Atholton) was recognized as the CSAC Defensive Player of the Year while first-year Ellise Everett (Orlando, Fla./Lake Nona) picked up CSAC Rookie of the Year honors.
  • The Eagles are led by two First Team All-Conference selections in junior Jordan Lyons (Fairfax, Va.) and senior Krista Rodgers (Fairfax, Va.). Lyons paces the Mary Washington with 377 kills while Rodgers is hitting a team-high .381 on the season.
