NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Cedar Crest College softball team dropped a 4-0 decision to Gettysburg College in its final game at the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic.
The Bullets grabbed a 1-0 lead in the third inning on an RBI single from junior Olivia Moser (Robinsville, N.J.) that went up the middle and plated freshman Lauren O'Leary (Manasquan, N.J.). Gettysburg added another in the fourth as freshman Elliana Hopple (Collegeville, Pa.) connected on a solo home run to left field. The Bullets tacked on its last two runs in the fifth by way of RBI singles from sophomore Allegra DeCandia (Basking Ridge, N.J.) and Bailey Quinn (Hanford, Calif.).
Graduate student
Nicole Santaniello (Kissimmee, Fla./Osceola) registered the lone hit for the Falcons.
Freshman Paige Forry (Reading, Pa.) went the distance for Gettysburg, only allowing one hit while striking out five.
Sophomore
Corinne Mundy (Philadelphia, Pa./The Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush) took the loss for the Falcons, tossing four innings. She gave up two runs on six hits with one strikeout and one walk.
Cedar Crest (4-4 overall) will return home and host Eastern University in a non-league doubleheader on Wednesday, March 23 beginning at 3:00 p.m.
