ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College tennis team dropped its season-opening match to Muhlenberg College, 9-0, on Friday afternoon at the Kern Field Courts.
The Mules started the afternoon with a 3-0 sweep in doubles play. The Falcons' first doubles pair of juniors
Lily Spagnola (Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat) and
Katherine Franzone () fell to first-year Kety Gaidamashvili (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and senior Giulia Gerschel (Skillman, N.J.), 8-0. Junior Sophia Framm (Owings Mills, Md.) and first-year Caitlin Bestrycki (Scranton, Pa.) topped junior
Sam Henson (Waterbury, Conn./W.F. Keynor Technical) and sophomore Brittany Shultz, 8-0, at second doubles. Muhlenberg captured the No. 3 doubles point by default.
Muhlenberg went onto take five singles points by 6-0, 6-0 scores and took the No. 6 singles point by default.
