BALTIMORE, Md. – The Cedar Crest College basketball team lost to Notre Dame of Maryland University in an 87-42 final in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play on Wednesday night at the MBK Athletic Complex.
Junior Kori People (Washington, D.C.) scored a team-high 22 points and handed out three assists to lead three Gators in double figures. Sophomore Alexis Durham (Plumas Lake, Calif.) finished with 16 points, six assists, six steals, and two assists for NDMU (13-3 overall, 9-0 CSAC) while graduate student Daija Fitchett (Baltimore, Md.) contributed 10 points, three rebounds, two steals, and one assist.
Senior
Ashley Wilson (Norwalk, Conn./Norwalk) paced the Falcons (0-10 overall, 0-8 CSAC) with 30 points to go along with seven rebounds, three steals, and one assist. First-year
Bella Bozen (Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township) added six points, 12 boards, one assist, and one steal. Senior
Kelsee Schouppe (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) pitched in four points and two rebounds while junior
Morgan Ritchie (New Tripoli, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh) rounded out the scoring with two points.
The Gators raced out to an 11-0 lead and held a 29-6 advantage after the first quarter. NDMU had another strong quarter in the second stanza to carry a 50-11 score into the half.
The Gators pumped the lead to as many as 48 points in the second half while cruising to the finish. NDMU outscored Cedar Crest 50-14 in the paint and 26-4 in fast break points.
Cedar Crest will welcome in Rosemont College for its next game on Saturday, January 21 at 1:00 p.m. NDMU returns to action at Cairn University on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
