CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College basketball team lost a 58-43 decision to Wilson College on Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play at Gannett Memorial Field House.
The Phoenix were led by senior Samira Murphy (Virginia Beach, Va.), who turned in a game-high 20 points and 13 rebounds to go along with two assists, two steals, and three blocks. First-year Adrianna Stricek (Harrisburg, Pa.) also registered a double-double of 14 points and 11 boards. Senior Yaya Cannon (Lancaster, Pa.) was the last Wilson student-athlete in double figures scoring with 10 points while adding eight rebounds, four assists, and two steals.

Ashley Wilson (Norwalk, Conn./Norwalk) recorded a near double-double of 18 points and nine rebounds for the Falcons. She also had three steals and one assist. First-year
Jordan McGhee (Copperas Cove, Texas/Copperas Cove) contributed 10 points, four caroms, two assists, and a steal. First-year
Haivynn Kovach (Virginia Beach, Va./Churchland) tallied six points, a team-high 10 rebounds, three assists, three steals, and a block.
Wilson held a 17-9 advantage after the first quarter and Cedar Crest answered back with a 14-11 second stanza to enter the locker room down by five, 28-23.
The Phoenix went on a 8-2 run over the first 3:40 of the third quarter to build a double-digit margin, 36-25, finished off by a jumper from Cannon. Wilson pushed its lead to as many as 20 in the frame and entered the final quarter with a 50-31 advantage.
The Falcons outscored the Phoenix, 12-8, in the final 10 minutes as the game ended in the 15-point final, 58-43.
Cedar Crest (1-11 overall, 1-9 CSAC) returns to the hardwood on Wednesday, February 1 at Keystone College in a 6:00 p.m. tip. Wilson (12-6 overall, 9-3 CSAC) remains home for a contest against Notre Dame of Maryland University on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
