Field Hockey Falls to Keystone in United East Opener

LA PLUME, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College field hockey team suffered a 3-0 loss to Keystone College to begin United East Conference action on Wednesday night.

The Giants put one goal on the scoreboard in the 13th minute of the first quarter on a marker from senior Maria Tomada (Buenos Aires, Argentina) to put Keystone in front, 1-0.

The home team tallied another in the second stanza as first-year Lucia Cisilino (Tandil, Buenos Aires, Argentina) found the back of the cage in the 26th minute to push the score to 2-0. Tomada and senior Miranda Mascia (Blakeslee, PA.) were credited with the assists.

Keystone added one more in the fourth quarter as sophomore Belen Rodriguez (Caballito, Buenos Aires, Argentina) set up senior Vicky Mainero (Francisco Alvarez, Buenos Aires, Argentina) for the final marker of the contest to increase the lead to 3-0.

Keystone outshot Cedar Crest, 20-0 and had 13 penalty corners to the Falcons' two.

Senior Hannah Osbahr (Old Bridge, N.J.) secured the win in goal for the Giants and did not face a shot. First-year Kadee Schrader (Northampton, Pa./Northampton Area) got tagged with the loss for the Cedar Crest and was credited with 10 saves. She has now eclipsed the 100-save plateu on the season (101). 

Cedar Crest (2-12 overall, 0-1 United East) will play host to Neumann University on Saturday, October 21 at 11:00 a.m. on Homecoming Weekend. Keystone (8-3 overall, 2-0 United East) travels to Lancaster Bible College on Saturday for its regular season finale at 11:00 a.m.
