ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College field hockey team got back in the win column with a 2-0 triumph over Neumann University in its non-conference finale on Saturday on Homecoming Weekend at the FalconPlex.
The Falcons scored both of its goals in the second quarter. Senior
Adriana Hinkle (Palmerton, Pa./Homeschooled (played for Lehighton)) tallied the opening goal in the 19
th minute and then graduate student
Emily Demarest (Vernon, N.J./Vernon Township) deposited the next marker in the 24
th minute to make it 2-0, the eventual final.
The Knights held an 11-5 edge in shots and had four corners to Cedar Crest's one.
First-year
Kadee Schrader (Northampton, Pa./Northampton Area) recorded the win in the cage for the Falcons, registering nine saves. Junior Emma Schneider (Springfield, Pa.) was tagged with the loss for Neumann and made three stops.
Cedar Crest (3-12 overall) resumes conference play on Tuesday, October 24 with a home game against Lancaster Bible College at 7:00 p.m. Neumann (5-12 overall) will host Marywood University in its regular season finale on Wednesday, October 25 at 4:00 p.m.
