Soccer Runs Unbeaten Streak to Nine; Defeats Clarks Summit on Senior Day

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College soccer team ran its unbeaten streak to nine matches with a 4-0 triumph over Clarks Summit University in a United East Conference-Skye Division contest on Saturday afternoon. It also marked Senior Day and Homecoming Weekend for the Falcons.

Prior to the start, the program honored its two seniors Olivia Kelly (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) and Krystal Sears (Manchester, N.J./Manchester Township) in a special ceremony.

The Falcons netted three goals in the first half to grab control. Junior Abril Riley (Levittown, Pa./Harry S. Truman) put Cedar Crest on the scoreboard with a marker in the seventh minute. The assist went to Kelly.

First-year Avery Kramer (Blandon, Pa./Fleetwood Area) netted her first collegiate goal with a tally in the 32nd minute. Juniors Grace Nieman (Mount Airy, Md./South Carroll) and Kayla Reiter (Emmaus, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh) provided the helpers to push the score to 2-0.

The Falcons got its second goal of the match from Riley in the 42nd minute to increase the lead to 3-0. Classmate Madison Balliet (Palmerton, Pa./Palmerton Area) was credited with the assist.

Cedar Crest notched one more goal in the second half when Reiter found the back of the net in the 61st minute to make the score 4-0, the eventual final.

Sophomore Bella Bozen (Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township) and first-year Stephanie Macaluso (Kendall Park, N.J./South Brunswick) combined for the shutout for the Falcons. Bozen recorded a pair of saves while Macaluso picked up one.

Junior Kayla White-Regan (Loveland, Colo.) made 13 saves in the loss for the Lady Defenders.

Cedar Crest outshot Clarks Summit, 26-5, and had nine corner kicks to the Lady Defenders' one.
