ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College soccer team was edged by Wilson College in a 1-0 decision on Tuesday afternoon in its regular season finale at the FalconPlex.
The Phoenix tallied the lone goal of the contest in the 38
th minute on a strike by sophomore Maddy Miller (Dillsburg, Pa.).
Wilson outshot the Falcons, 16-4 and had five corner kicks to Cedar Crest's three.
Junior Rebecca Marakovitz (New Market, Md.) secured the win in goal for the Phoenix, making a pair of saves. Sophomore
Bella Bozen (Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township) recorded nine saves for the Falcons.
Cedar Crest (4-4-6 overall, 4-1-4 United East Conference-Skye Division) has qualified for the United East Conference Championship Tournament as the No. 5 seed and will travel to fourth-seeded Rosemont College on Saturday, October 28 for the Divisional First Round. The match time has yet to be determined. Wilson (14-4-1 overall, 8-1-0 United East Conference-Skye Division) has captured the No. 2 for the Conference Championship Tournament and will open play on Tuesday, October 31.
