ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Director of Athletics Christy Malone Fleagle recently announced that Assistant Softball Coach Dallas Horning has been elevated to full-time status and in addition to her coaching duties, she will serve as the Rentals Supervisor for the Athletic Department.

"I am thrilled to have Dallas on full-time in the Athletic Department," said Fleagle. "Dallas is committed to Cedar Crest College and is committed to the softball team. Her time here as a student-athlete and a coach demonstrated to us the commitment we know she brings to campus. She will assist in cultivating relationships for rentals and help us increase this area. Dallas has been a steady force for our softball team. She is a reliable coach and leader and will continue to raise the bar with our softball program. It's an exciting time to be with the Falcons!"

In her role of Rentals Supervisor, Horning will be the primary lead for all outside rentals for the Athletic Department, which includes the turf field, grass field, softball field, Lees Gymnasium, and the tennis courts. Horning will be charged with increasing revenue for rentals as well as developing creative ways to expand the rentals area. In addition to serving as the primary lead, she will assist in the training and supervision of all graduate assistants and student workers in the rental space as well as collaborating with different groups across campus.

Horning will enter her third season as the Assistant Softball Coach in the 2023-24 academic year. In her two seasons, she has helped the Falcons to a 31-29 overall record with a 26-6 mark in conference play.

"I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to stay in the softball world at the place I consider home," said Horning. "I look forward to the athletes coming back to campus and getting to work. Cedar Crest has given me nothing but opportunities, kindness, and positive reinforcement to achieve my goals and I'm excited to be a part of that culture for student-athletes consistently."

Prior to her coaching career, Horning spent five seasons in a Falcons' uniform and was a three-time All-Conference selection. Horning played in 141 games, starting in all of them. She collected a .334 batting average with 145 hits, 28 doubles, four triples, 10 home runs, 106 RBI, and 87 runs scored. Additionally, Horning sported a slugging percentage of .486 and an on-base percentage of .391. Horning was also a member of the team that won the program's first conference title in 2021.
