ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College field hockey team suffered a 2-0 loss to Delaware Valley University on Saturday afternoon in a non-league tilt at the FalconPlex.

The Aggies tallied its first goal of the game in the third minute when sophomore Maggie Helsel (Bethlehem, Pa.) connected with sophomore Kenzie Boyd (Lurgan, Pa.) on a pass and Boyd put a shot past Falcons' first-year goalkeeper Kadee Schrader (Northampton, Pa./Northampton Area) for the 1-0 advantage.

Delaware Valley added an insurance marker in the fourth quarter as junior Paige Sammons (Seaford, Del.) found the back of the cage, which came off an assist from senior Sydney Keagle (Catonsville, Md.) to make the score 2-0, the eventual final.

Senior Alyssa Rudd (Belvidere, N.J.) recorded the win in the cage for the Aggies. The senior played 15 minutes and did not record a save. Schrader and classmate Shelby Heater (Lehighton, Pa./Lehighton Area) split time in goal for Cedar Crest. Schrader registered five saves, while Heater was credited with six.
