WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College field hockey suffered a 2-1 overtime loss to Lycoming College on Tuesday night in a non-league matchup at UPMC Field at Keiper Stadium.
After a scoreless first 30 minutes, the Warriors put one in the back of the cage in the 43
rd minute on a marker from first-year Carmen Hannon (Aldie, Va.) with the assist going to junior Hallie Woodring (Hummelstown, Pa.) to make the score 1-0.
The Falcons registered the equalizer with just 38 remaining in regulation on a breakaway goal from senior
Adriana Hinkle (Palmerton, Pa./Homeschooled (played for Lehighton)) to knot the game at one.
The contest headed into overtime and Lycoming netted the game-winner on a tally from sophomore Riley Marines (East Berlin, Pa.) with 1:28 to play in the extra period. The marker was set up by first-year Loghan Shelly (Manheim, Pa.) on a fast break.
Sophomore Isabella Bobé (York Springs, Pa.) converted 10 saves in the win for the Warriors. First-year
Kadee Schrader (Northampton, Pa./Northampton Area) made 11 stops in the loss for Cedar Crest.
Lycoming held a 15-11 advantage in shots and had nine corners to the Falcons' four.
Cedar Crest (1-5 overall) returns home for a non-conference contest against FDU-Florham on Friday, September 22 at 7:00 p.m. Lycoming (3-3 overall) travels to Goucher College for a conference game on Saturday, September 23 at 1:00 p.m.
