ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College field hockey team defeated Immaculata University by a score of 1-0 with the victory coming in a decisive 2-1 advantage in a shootout on Wednesday night at the FalconPlex.
The score after regulation was tied 0-0. The Mighty Macs held a 13-8 edge in shots in the contest and had 11 penalty corners to the Falcons' 10.
After a pair of overtime periods, Cedar Crest won the shootout by a score of 2-1. In the first round of the shootout, Lauren Vandenbraak scored to put the Mighty Macs in front. The Falcons evened things in the shootout with a nifty goal from sophomore

Emmi Cheesman (Pittsgrove, N.J./Arthur P. Schalick) gave Cedar Crest the victory when she beat Levase low for the 2-1 shootout win.
First-year goalkeeper
Kadee Schrader (Northampton, Pa./Northampton Area) was stellar on the defensive end, making four saves including a number of key stops in the shootout.
Levase was tagged with the loss in goal for Immaculata, converting three saves.
Cedar Crest (2-7 overall) will return to the field when it hosts Hood College on Saturday, September 30 at 1:00 p.m. for Senior Day. Immaculata (3-6 overall) will travel to Arcadia University for a non-league matchup on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
