IMMACULATA, Pa. – A pair of second-half goals were the difference in the Cedar Crest College field hockey team's 2-0 setback to Immaculata University on Monday night at Draper Walsh Stadium.
After a scoreless first half, sophomore Kailey Mayoros (Burlington, N.J.) found the back of the cage at 32:45 to put the Mighty Macs ahead 1-0.
Immaculata tacked on its second tally with eight seconds remaining in regulation as Mayoros found senior Rory Watson (Allentown, Pa.) to push the lead to 2-0 for final goal of the game.
Immaculata held an 34-0 advantage in shots and had 12 penalty corners to the Falcons' one.
Sophomore
Shelby Heater (Lehighton, Pa./Lehighton Area) registered a career-high 22 saves in the loss for Cedar Crest. Senior Julia Levase (Claymont, Del.) did not face a shot in the win for the Mighty Macs.
Cedar Crest (3-11 overall) will resume conference play when it hosts Keystone College on Wednesday, October 16 at 7:00 p.m. Immaculata (7-7 overall) travels to Marywood University for its next game on Saturday, October 19 at 1:00 p.m.
