ABINGTON, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College soccer team fell to Penn State Abington 2-0 in a conference match on Saturday afternoon at Memorial Field.
The Nittany Lions put up one goal each half en route to the victory. Senior Madison McDowell (Philadelphia, Pa.) put Abington on the board in the 41
st minute. First-year Meghan McMeel (Ambler, Pa.) scored the second goal of the game in the 47
th minute to make the score 2-0 for the final goal of the match.
Sophomore Abby Brunnell and senior Rachel Wilfrid (Bayville, N.J.) split time in the net with one save each for the Nittany Lions. Junior
Bella Bozen (Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township) made twelve saves in the loss for Cedar Crest.
The Lions outshot the Falcons 20-4 in the contest. Penn-State Abington had nine corner kicks to Cedar Crest's two.
Cedar Crest (4-6-2 overall, 2-3-1 United East) will host Lancaster Bible College for a United East Conference contest on Tuesday, October 22 for a 6:00 p.m. start. Penn-State Abington (9-4-2 overall, 4-0-2 United East) will return to action on Tuesday, October 22 at Bryn Athyn College for a United East Conference matchup. The match is scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m.
