ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College soccer team was defeated by Lancaster Bible College, 1-0, on Tuesday night in a United East Conference contest at the FalconPlex.
The Chargers scored the lone goal of the match with 8:07 remaining in regulation when junior Janae Bergy (Milton, Pa.) found the back of the net to put Lancaster Bible ahead 1-0.
First-year Carissa Mulder (Christiana, Pa.) made three saves in the win for the Chargers. Sophomore
Stephanie Macaluso (Kendall Park, N.J./South Brunswick) converted a career-high 13 saves in the loss for Cedar Crest.
The Chargers outshot the Falcons 24-5 in the contest. Lancaster Bible College had six corner kicks to the Falcons' one. Senior
MacKayla Reed (Duncansville, Pa./Hollidaysburg Area Senior) paced Cedar Crest with two shots, while classmates
Linsey Nester (Mohrsville, Pa./Hamburg),
Grace Nieman (Mount Airy, Md./South Carroll), and
Abril Riley (Levittown, Pa./Harry S. Truman) each tallied one.
Cedar Crest (4-7-2 overall, 2-4-1 United East) will host Notre Dame of Maryland University for its regular season finale on Saturday, October 26 at 4:00 p.m. Lancaster Bible College (5-5-4 overall, 4-3-0 United East) will round out the regular season on Saturday as they to take on Penn State Brandywine in a road conference matchup on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
