DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College softball team was blanked by Delaware Valley University in its non-conference finale on Tuesday afternoon. The Falcons lost the first game by a 10-0 score and were then defeated 5-0 in the nightcap.
Game One – Delaware Valley 10, Cedar Crest 0 (Five Innings)
The Aggies got on the scoreboard with a single run in the first inning. Sophomore Tori Bockrath (Collegeville, Pa.) drove a ball out to center field, which was deep enough to score classmate Kenzie Boyd (Lurgan, Pa.). The sacrifice fly put Delaware Valley ahead, 1-0.
The home team added five runs in the third to extend its lead to 5-0.
The Aggies tacked on four more in the fourth. Bockrath singled through the left side to plate junior Sierra Ripka (Souderton, Pa.). Sophomore Angelina Bresnen (Morrisville, Pa.) then crossed home on a fielder's choice. The final runs came on a base hit from the bat of junior Bailey Smith (Littlestown, Pa.). Sophomore Amelia Funston (Doylestown, Pa.) touched home on an error in the outfield while Bockrath also scored on the play to increase the margin to 10-0.
First-year Madison Karns (New Windsor, Md.) picked up the win in the circle for Delaware Valley, only allowing two hits while striking out nine.
Junior
BB Aquila (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall) was tagged with the loss for the Falcons, giving up 10 runs (six earned) on nine hits. She struck out one and walked two.
Boyd paced the Aggies at the dish in game one, going 3-for-3 with two runs scored.
Junior
Alex Mullen (Prospect Park, Pa./Interboro) recorded both hits for Cedar Crest, going a perfect 2-for-2.
Game Two – Delaware Valley 5, Cedar Crest 0
Delaware Valley jumped on the board in the second inning after junior Yasmine Gonzalez (Philadelphia, Pa.) drove in sophomore Madison Donnelly (Marlton, N.J.) with a base hit to right field to put the Aggies on top, 1-0.
The home squad put up another run in the third frame as Ripka came home on a single to right field by Donnelly to increase the margin to 2-0.
The Aggies registered a pair of tallies in the fourth to push the lead to 4-0. Bresnen doubled in Ripka and then Bresnen would later score on an error.
The last run came on a Donnelly double to right field to bring around Bresnen to extend the score to 5-0.
Boyd secured the victory for Delaware Valley. She allowed three hits while striking out five and walking one.

Corinne Mundy (Philadelphia, Pa./The Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush) was charged with the loss, surrendering five runs (three earned) on 11 hits to go along with one strikeout and two walks.
Senior
Kristina Cagle (Pittsgrove, N.J./Arthur P. Schalick), sophomore
Laney Ferraro (Philadelphia, Pa./New Foundations Charter), and Mundy each had a hit for the Falcons.
Ripka guided the Aggies, finishing 3-for-4 with two runs scored.
Cedar Crest (2-18 overall) resumes conference action on Thursday, April 18 in a home doubleheader against Saint Elizabeth University starting at 3:00 p.m. Delaware Valley (14-12 overall) will host Centenary University in a non-league twinbill on Thursday beginning at 3:00 p.m.
