PHOENIXVILLE, Pa. — The Cedar Crest College soccer team secured a decisive 2-0 victory over the University of Valley Forge in a United East Conference match on Wednesday afternoon.
The first half began with the Falcons pushing forward aggressively, maintaining consistent pressure on the Patriots' defense. Cedar Crest generated numerous scoring opportunities, highlighted by eight corner kicks and multiple shots on goal. Despite several saves by goalkeeper junior Abigail Wood (Lenhartsville, Pa.), Cedar Crest's persistence paid off late in the half.

Amiyah Carroll (Severn, Md./Old Mill Senior) broke through with just 27 seconds remaining in the first half, scoring the opening goal with an assist from classmate
Laila Stevenson (Sayreville, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial). The stanza concluded with the Falcons ahead 1-0, setting the tone for the remainder of the match.

Alvarado scored one goal on three shots, contributing two points for Cedar Crest. Carroll notched the game-winning goal and finished with eight shots, five of which were on target. Stevenson provided an assist and recorded five shots, including two on goal. Junior
Avery Kramer (Blandon, Pa./Fleetwood Area) led the team with ten shots, managing to put three on target.
Wood made an impressive 17 saves, facing 40 shots on goal for Valley Forge.
Cedar Crest (2-7-0 overall, 1-1-0 United East) stays on the road to face Wilson College on Saturday, October 4 at 3:00 p.m. The University of Valley Forge (2-6-0 overall, 0-2-0 United East) next hosts Penn State Harrisburg on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
