GETTYSBURG, Pa. — The Cedar Crest College cross country team placed 29th out of 33 teams at the Aubrey Shenk Invitational hosted by Gettysburg College on Saturday, with sophomore
Giada Smith (Springtown, Pa./Palisades) leading the team by finishing 166th with a time of 26:10.7.
Sophomore
Erica Cook (Deming, Wash./Mount Baker) ran a time of 26:47.7 and placed 189th. Freshman
Lillian Waugh (Easton, Pa./Wilson Area) completed the course in 28:44.9, finishing in 232nd place.
Senior
Shayla Simek (Lehighton, Pa./Lehighton Area) and sophomore
Abby Adams (Suffolk, Va./Lakeland) rounded out the scoring for the Falcons, with times of 30:39.8 and 33:47.5, placing 259th and 281st, respectively.
Sophomore
Arianna Gonzalez (Fallsburg, N.Y./Fallsburg Junior Senior) recorded a time of 36:56.9 while classmate
Krishana Brooks (Long Branch, N.J./Long Branch) closed out the runners in the field for Cedar Crest, crossing the finish line in 39:36.9.
Cedar Crest will now have a week off to prepare for the United East Conference Championship meet, which will take place at Penn State Brandywine on Saturday, November 1 at noon.
