ALLENTOWN, Pa. — The Cedar Crest College soccer team was taken down by Penn State-Abington with a score of 2-0 in a United East Conference contest on Tuesday evening at the FalconPlex.
The Nittany Lions took the lead in the 15th minute with a goal from junior Nayeska Ravelo (Philadelphia, Pa.), assisted by sophomore Meghan McMeel (Ambler, Pa.). McMeel sent the ball in off a corner kick and found Ravelo's head where she deposited the shot in the back of the net to give Penn State Abington the 1-0 lead.
The visitors added a goal in the 76
th minute when senior Amanda Armstrong (Philadelphia, Pa.) crossed the ball in front of the goal to connect with the head of sophomore Kaitlyn Frank (Southampton, Pa.) to push the score to 2-0.

Bella Bozen (Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township) made nine saves while facing 11 shots. First-year
Laila Stevenson (Sayreville, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial) managed one shot. Senior
Lauren Davis (Oley, Pa./Oley Valley) recorded two shots, with one on goal.
McMeel tallied one assist and five shots, four of which were on goal for the Nittany Lions. Frank contributed one goal while taking four shots, all on target. Ravelo tallied one goal and eight shots, two of which were on goal.
Cedar Crest (2-9-0 overall, 1-3-0 United East) will next play at Keystone College on Saturday, October 11 at noon. Penn State Abington (4-6-2 overall, 2-1-0 United East) returns home to host the University of Valley Forge on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
