ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College basketball team lost its final regular season road game, 45-41, against Rosemont College on Saturday in United East Conference action at Alumnae Hall.
The Falcons came out of the gates hot, shooting 43.8 percent in the opening quarter, leading by as many as nine to hold a 15-6 advantage at the end of the first 10 minutes. Cedar Crest held the Ravens to just 20 percent shooting in the first stanza.
The visitors extended its margin to as many as 14, 25-11, following a bucket from sophomore
Caylie Long (Powder Springs, Ga./Hillgrove) with 5:30 to play in the half. Rosemont responded with a 12-0 run, finished off by a layup from junior Lakay Holloway (Upper Darby, Pa.) to trim the Ravens' deficit to just two, 25-23, but a triple from senior
Bryanna Rivera (Reading, Pa./Greenfield (Mass.)) sent the Falcons into the break with a five-point lead, 28-23. Long led all first-half scorers with 12 points on 5-for-9 shooting (55.6 percent).
Cedar Crest led by as many as seven in the third frame, 37-30. Rosemont closed the stanza on an 8-0 run to snag the one-point lead, 38-37, with one period to play.
The final frame featured 13 points from both teams. Senior Mojisola Shokeye (Yonkers, N.Y.) knocked down a pair of free throws to push the Raven margin to three, 40-37. A jump shot from sophomore

Maliya Gonzalez (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) with 34 second remaining made it a one-point game, 42-41, but the Ravens knocked down three late free throws to come out with the 45-41 win.
Senior
Rachel Bilger (Philadelphia, Pa./Upper Dublin) collected a team-high 15 points and 11 rebounds to go along with one assist and two steals for the Falcons. Long contributed 14 points, two boards, one assist, and two steals. Rivera chipped in six points, four rebounds, two assists, and a steal. Emily Matoushek (Waymart, Pa./Forest City Regional) registered five rebounds and three assists while senior
Francess Suah (Philadelphia, Pa./Constitution) had three rebounds.
Shokeye tallied a game-high 16 points and added six rebounds, one assist, two steals, and one block. Holloway added 15 points, nine boards, one assist, and two steals to pace Rosemont.
Cedar Crest (7-9 overall, 5-8 United East) will next host Keystone College on Tuesday, February 11 at 6:00 p.m. Rosemont (2-21 overall, 2-12 United East) travels to Penn College for its next contest on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m.
