ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College tennis team fell to Cairn University, 6-1, in a United East Conference match on Wednesday afternoon.

Grace Nieman (Mount Airy, Md./South Carroll) and sophomore
Grace Huff (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville Area) defeated junior Tatiana Ipri (Mullica Hill, N.J.) and senior Kailee Sobrino (Vail, Ariz.), 6-2, at second doubles. Sophomore
Cam Beverage (Taylor, Pa./Riverside) and senior
Gracelynn Pauley (New Oxford, Pa./South Western) fell to sophomores Madison Seals (Seaford, Del.) and Hajin Seo (Bangkok, Thailand), 6-4, at third doubles to give the Highlanders the doubles point.
Griffith topped Barnard at the top singles spot by identical 6-0, 6-0 scores. Bouton defeated Nieman in three sets at No. 2 (6-2, 0-6, 10-5). Ipri defeated O'Connor at third singles, 6-0 and 6-1. Huff picked up the only singles win for the Falcons defeating Searls 6-2 in the first set and then Searls retired down 4-1 in the second set at the No. 4 spot. Sobrino took down Beverage at the number 5 spot, 6-0, 6-1. Seo picked up the final win of the day for the Highlanders defeating sophomore
Aleice Cherry (Raleigh, N.C./Oscar Smith) 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6.
Cedar Crest (0-4 overall, 0-2 United East) will travel to Abington, Pa. to take on Penn State Abington on Saturday, March 29 at 1:00 p.m. Cairn University (1-0 overall, 1-0 United East) will host Bryn Athyn College on Saturday, March 29 at 12:00 p.m.
