ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College softball team split a doubleheader against Lancaster Bible College in United East Conference action on Saturday afternoon at Cynthia L. Blaschak Field. The Chargers took game by a 10-3 final while the Falcons responded with a 9-7 victory in eight innings in game two.
Game One – Lancaster Bible 10, Cedar Crest 3
Lancaster Bible took an early lead in the first inning. Graduate student Phoebe Clemens (Honey Brook, Pa.) tripled and later scored on a single, giving the Chargers a 1–0 advantage.
Cedar Crest responded in the second inning. Senior
Alex Mullen (Prospect Park, Pa./Interboro) walked and stole second, eventually crossing the plate on a bases-loaded walk by sophomore
Kate Gronkowski (Hanover Township, Pa./Hanover Area Junior Senior), tying the game at 1–1. However, Lancaster Bible answered with a strong bottom half, scoring four runs, including a two-RBI triple by first-year Maggie Kwiatkowski (Millsboro, Del.), to lead 5–1 after the second.
The Falcons narrowed the gap in the fourth inning. Junior
Natalie Hasert (Vernon, N.J./Vernon Township) singled and scored on an RBI single by senior
Alexis Kline (Allentown, Pa./Lehigh Valley Academy Regional Charter). A wild pitch allowed Gronkowski to score, bringing the score to 5–3.
In the fifth inning, the Chargers extended their lead. Clemens hit a two-RBI triple, followed by a two-run homer by junior Maddison Atkins (Madisonville, Pa.), pushing the lead to 10–3.
Kline stood out for the Cedar Crest, contributing one hit and one RBI while drawing three walks. Gronkowski showcased patience at the plate, earning three walks and driving in one run. She also stole a base and recorded two assists at second base.

Alexis Acevedo (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) delivered a complete game as a pitcher, throwing six innings and striking out five batters.
Game Two – Cedar Crest 9, Lancaster Bible 7 (Eight Innings)
Lancaster Bible opened the scoring in the second inning with a run, taking an early 1–0 lead. The Falcons responded in the fourth inning by capitalizing on a fielding error and a walk to score two runs, moving ahead 2–1.
In the fifth inning, Cedar Crest extended their lead with a two-RBI double by Kline, bringing the score to 4–1. However, the Chargers answered back with two unearned runs in their half of the fifth, narrowing the gap to 4–3. The Falcons added another run in the sixth when Ferraro's single drove home Hasert, but Lancaster Bible took the lead with a three-run sixth inning, making it 6–5.
Cedar Crest kept the game competitive by scoring a run in the seventh, tying the game at 6–6. In the eighth inning, the Falcons' offense surged with a three-run effort, highlighted by Hasert's triple and a series of strategic plays that put them ahead 9–6. The Chargers managed to add one more run in their final turn at bat, but the Falcons held on for a 9–7 victory.
Hasert led the Cedar Crest with a strong offensive performance, recording three hits and scoring two. Kline also stood out with two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs. First-year
Kylie Mastillo (Moscow, Pa./North Pocono) added to the team's success with a triple and two hits, resulting in two runs and an RBI.

Erin Gray (Pennsburg, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) tossed a complete game over eight innings, allowing seven hits and two earned runs while striking out four in the win.
Cedar Crest 13-13 overall, 4-1 United East) remains home to host Penn College on Tuesday, April 8 in a doubleheader starting at 3:00 p.m. Lancaster Bible (11-10 overall, 1-2 United East) will next face St. Elizabeth University in a road twinbill on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m.
