ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College tennis team collected its first win of the season with a 4-3 triumph over Notre Dame of Maryland University in a United East Conference match on Wednesday afternoon.

Grace Huff (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville Area) edged sophomore Morgan Lookingland (Baltimore, Md.) and first-year Toluope Olowookorun at first doubles, 7-5. The second doubles team of senior
Corinne O'Connor (Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore) and sophomore
Cam Beverage (Taylor, Pa./Riverside) took down the Gators' pair of senior Kritika KC (Baltimore, Md.) and senior Shiri Ncotu, 6-1. The Cedar Crest pair of senior
Gracelynn Pauley (New Oxford, Pa./South Western) and sophomore
Aleice Cherry (Raleigh, N.C./Oscar Smith) blanked sophomore Mia Wills (Frederick, Md.) and sophomore Trinity Ruth at third doubles, 6-0.
The teams then split singles play, 3-3. Lookingland topped Barnard at the top singles spot (6-4, 6-7, 10-7). Olowookorun defeated O'Connor 6-4 and 6-1 at No. 2 singles. Huff topped KC, 7-6 and 6-0 at third singles. Beverage got by Ncotu 6-3, 6-4 at the No. 4 spot. Pauley beat Wills 6-4 and 6-0 at fifth singles. Gordon collected the final point for NDMU, beating Cherry 6-2, 7-6 at the No. 6 spot.
Cedar Crest (1-5 overall, 1-3 United East) will hit the road for a match at St. Mary's College of Maryland on Saturday, April 12 at 1:00 p.m. Notre Dame of Maryland University (1-5 overall, 1-3 United East) next hosts Penn State Harrisburg on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
