MEDIA, Pa. – The Cedar Crest College cross country team competed in the United East Conference Preview Meet on Friday afternoon, placing seventh out of 13 teams.
Sophomore
Kasia Dos Santos (Slatington, Pa./Northern Lehigh) led the team by finishing 14th with a time of 28:18.44, averaging 7:36 per kilometer. Classmate
Giada Smith (Springtown, Pa./Palisades) was close behind, placing 15th with a time of 28:20.84 and matching Dos Santos' average pace. First-year
Lillian Waugh (Easton, Pa./Wilson Area) was the next to cross the line for the Falcons, securing the 30th position with a time of 32:07.69 and an average of 8:37 per kilometer.
Senior
Shayla Simek (Lehighton, Pa./Lehighton Area) came in 50th, clocking a time of 36:10.26. Rounding out the team, sophomore
Abby Adams (Suffolk, Va./Lakeland), junior
Krishana Brooks (Long Branch, N.J./Long Branch), and sophomore
Arianna Gonzalez (Fallsburg, N.Y./Fallsburg Junior Senior) finished in places 55, 56, and 57, respectively, all completing the course within a 39-minute mark.
In their next event, the Falcons will take part in the Penn State Abington Invitational on September 20 at 9:00 a.m. at Lorimer Park.
