Volleyball Sweeps Cairn in Three Set in Conference Action

LANGHORNE, Pa.--- The Cedar Crest College volleyball team swept Cairn University in a Colonial States Athletic Conference in three sets with scores of 25-16, 25-19, and 25-22 on Saturday afternoon.

"The girls showed they could make the adjustments needed to pull off a win today," commented Head Coach Shelby Morgan. "We didn't display our best volleyball this afternoon, and Cairn didn't make it easy for us fighting until the last point, but we didn't give up. We refoucused on what we needed to and came away with another conference win."

Sophomore outside hitter Molly Schnaubelt (San Diego, CA/University City) led the attack for the Falcons with kills with 11 kills, two assists, four service aces and 11 digs. Junior opposite hitter Maggie Olock (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty High School) finished the day with eight kills and 10 digs while junior setter Celina Danish (Allentown, PA/Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts) paced the Falcons with 20 assists, a team-high of six aces, four kills and four digs. Sophomore defensive specialist Kaylee Martinez (Hemet, CA/West Valley) led the team defensively with 15 digs, two kills, two service aces and two assists.

Freshman middle hitter Alex Morgan () had three kills, one ace, one service ace and one block as senior defensive specialist LaShawndalese Johnson (Baltimore, MD/Edmondson-Westside) added one kill and two digs. Senior defensive specialist Kimlynn Tran (Allentown, Pa./Louis E. Dieruff) contributed one kill, one assists, one service ace and seven digs for the Falcons.

The Falcons will host the Knights of Neumann University in a Colonial States Atheletic Conference match-up on Tuesday, October 27, with the game time slated to start at 7:00 p.m. in Lees Gymnasium.
