Rosemont, PA
The Cedar Crest College softball team took to the road in an un-conventional Sunday Colonial States Athletic Conference showdown with the Rosemont Ravens.
Individually for the Falcons, the team would collect 11 hits in game one led by freshman
Kaylee Martinez (Hemet, CA/West Valley) who would finish game one going 4 for 4Â with a double and a stolen base.
Other standouts for the Falcons included
Lily Acosta (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty High School) who finished game one going 2 for 4 with two runs scored and a double. Â
Molly Schnaubelt (San Diego, CA/University City),
Alexis Baxter (Clifton Springs, NY/Phelps-Clifton Springs),
Ciara Lane (Northampton, PA/Northampton Area) and
April Daly (Burlington, NJ/Holy Cross High School) all finished with one hit, while Baxter would add two RBI's.
On the mound in game one,
April Daly (Burlington, NJ/Holy Cross High School) would go the distance with a complete game four hitter. Â Daly would allow one run, walk one and strike out three in game one for the Falcons. Â
With the win, the Falcons improve to 5-9 overall and 4-2 in the CSAC. Â
In game two, it took just four hits for the Falcons to claim their sixth overall and fifth conference win of the season. Â
Ciara Lane (Northampton, PA/Northampton Area),
Molly Schnaubelt (San Diego, CA/University City),
Amanda Kustanbauter (Muncy, PA/Muncy High School) and
Jackie Gallagher (Fort Worth, TX/Keller Central High School) would be all the offense the Falcons needed.
Schnaubelt and
Kaylee Martinez (Hemet, CA/West Valley) would each score a run a piece to put the Falcons over for their sixth overall win. Â
Once again pitching led the way for the Falcons as
Amanda Kustanbauter (Muncy, PA/Muncy High School) pitched a complete game four hitter for the Falcons second four hit complete game of the day. Â Kustanbauter would allow just one run and walk two while striking out one over seven innings pitched.
With the two wins the Falcons now stake claim to the 6th overall position in the CSAC official softball standings and will enter late April in the playoff hunt.
The Falcons now sit at 6-10 overall and are now 5-3 in the CSAC and will have Monday off before returning to action on the 15th when the Falcons are scheduled to host Immaculata University on the 15th with game one to begin at 3 PM.
