It was Senior Day for the Cedar Crest College lacrosse team as they would honor five players. Â Senior's
DeJanet Lantion (Silver Spring, MD/John F. Kennedy),
Kim Barry (Greentown, PA/Wallenpaupack Area),
Rebecca Grady (Silver Spring, MD/Paint Branch), and
Chelsea Thompson (Coatesville, PA/Collegium Charter School) along with junior
Emily Rodenberger (Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen High School) were honored before today's contest. Â Rodenberger, who will graduate in December of this year was honored as a senior for today's contest.
As for the game, Immaculata would open the first half on a quick 11-0 run before the Falcons would take advantage of being a man up and
Regina Gill (Hellertown, PA/Saucon Valley High School) would score the Falcons first goal of the game. Â The Mighty Macs would then collect two more goals before all was said and done in the first half.
As a team in the first half, the Falcons would collect four shots, three of which were on goal. Â As a team they would also grab seven draw controls and six groundballs in the first half. Â They would also finish 1 of 2 on clear attempts in the first thirty minutes. Â
The second half saw the Falcons elevate their level of play as Gill would connect with junior
Vivianna Samite (Oakridge, NJ/Jefferson Twp) to get her first goal of the game. Â just five minutes later,
Emily Rodenberger (Pennsburg, PA/Upper Perkiomen High School) would run the full length of the field to collect her first goal of the game. Â The Mighty Macs would tack on three more goals, but the Falcons would answer right back as Rodenberger, Gill and senior
DeJanet Lantion (Silver Spring, MD/John F. Kennedy) would all score to push the score to 17-6 in favor of the Macs. Â Immaculata would score once more in the second half to close out the game winning 18-6.
In the second half, the Falcons saw all seven of their shots on target, while also collecting eight groundballs and six draw controls. Â
Individually for the Falcons, Gill and Rodenberger would each score twice, while Samite and Lantion would score once in the loss. Â Senior
Kim Barry (Greentown, PA/Wallenpaupack Area) would add four groundballs and five draw controls while fellow senior
Rebecca Grady (Silver Spring, MD/Paint Branch) would add two draw controls and one groundball. Â Fellow senior
Chelsea Thompson (Coatesville, PA/Collegium Charter School) would also add a groundball in her final home lacrosse game.
The Falcons fall to 1-11 overall and 1-7 in CSAC play and will wrap up conference play on Monday when they travel to Centenary College. Â Game time is set to begin at 4 PM.
