ALLENTOWN, Pa.---The Cedar Crest College lacrosse team held their 2016 home opener against non-conference Wilkes University in a 19-1 loss on Friday afternoon.

t was really exciting to have our home season opener and I really enjoy watching the players really come into their own with each game. I feel once we find a grove with a few games under our belt we will start find our tempo and I look forward to what our season could hold for us."Â

Lauren Felix (Allentown, Pa./Saucon Valley) scored the lone goal of the match for the Falcons while picking up three ground balls and winning one draw control while senior midfielder
Gerlie Loyola (Manorville, NY/Eastport South Manor Jr/Sr ) led with four ground balls and one draw control. Junior defender
Ellen Hill (Madison, N.H./Kennett) and senior goalkeeper
Nicole Rivera (Bronx, NY/Eximius ) both had three ground balls a piece as
Rivera picked up 18 saves in the game. Freshman attack
Shelby Szoke (White Haven, Pa./Crestwood ) and
Alexandra Zoda (Poughkeepsie, N.Y. /Roy C Ketcham Senior ) both had one groundball as
Zoda also had one draw control while senior attack
Vivianna Samite (Oakridge, NJ/Jefferson Twp) added one shot and one ground ball on the afternoon.
The next game for Cedar Crest is on Tuesday, March 15 as they host Colonial States Athletic Conference opponent Centenary College (N.J.) with a 4:00 p.m. start time.Â
