LA PLUME, Pa.--- The Cedar Crest College softball team vying for a playoff position took on fellow post season seekers, Keystone College in a Colonial States Athletic Conference show down where the Falcons split a pair of games. They dropped game one 8-7 in the seventh inning, but bounced back to take game two 9-2.
In game one, the Falcons took a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Sophomore outfielder
Lily Acosta (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty ) was walked and then stole second. Sophomore shortstop
Kaylee Martinez (Hemet, CA/West Valley) advanced the runner to third with a bunt and would place herself in scoring position by stealing second. The lone run of the inning was scored off a routine ground ball.
With runners on first and second sophomore outfielder
Jackie Gallagher (Fort Worth, TX/Keller Central ) swung at the first pitch for a single to center field to load the bases.
Acosta singled down the left field line for the first run of the second inning.
Martinez singled to first base for an RBI, while
Schnaubelt followed up with a double hitting the gap in deep center field for three RBI's to take the lead 6-2.
Keystone tied the game 6-6 in the bottom of the third inning, both teams would go scoreless until the top of the fifth. Junior catcher
Rachel Stump (Fleetwood, PA/Fleetwood) singled down the right field line, freshman
Brianna DeLany (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) would pinch run on the play, stealing second and advancing to third on a wild pitch. Freshman designated player
Nicole Ortiz-Siffel (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) laid a sacrifice bunt to score the run to take the lead 7-6. Despite solid defense the Giants were able to tack on two runs in the final inning to take game one 8-7.

Kelly Reading (Taunton, MA/Taunton) led off game two with a single to left center, a single down the right field line by
Acosta moved both runners into scoring position.
Schnaubelt hit a sac fly to center field to take a 1-0 lead. A quite second inning for both teams as the Falcons opened up the scoring in the third inning.
Acosta would hit a solo home run taking a pitch over the center field fence, the first of her college career.
Martinez hit a double to left center and would score on the next play. Freshman third basemen
Amiee Sarboukh singled to left center and Freshman outfielder
Brittney Bonser (Kunkletown, Pa./Pleasent Valley) reached on an error advancing the runners for another run.
Ortiz-Siffel singled up the middle for two RBIs to take a 6-0 lead.
Schnaubelt singled to right field and advanced to second on the play to start the fourth inning.
Sarboukh hit a single and an error scored the only run of the inning.
Reading rallied with two outs hitting a single to right field, she then stole second and scored when
Acosta singled to center field.
Martinez singled moving the runner but the Falcons left two runners on base. The top of the seventh, runner on third
Acosta connected for a single to right field to hold a 9-2 win.
Up next, Cedar Crest travels to Immaculata University for a make-up game on Tuesday, April 26 with the first pitch scheduled for 3:00 p.m. in a Colonial States Athletic Conference match up.
